Character Design for graphic novel project 'Gilgamesh the King'. I envisaged him looking like Tarzan would have really looked - naked, matted hair, beard, massively muscled.
The story and look is based partly upon authentic ancient Sumerian stories and artifacts and partly Von Daniken's Chariots of the Gods inspired ideas of a high tech ancient race of 'gods'.
The first 10 pages of the graphic novel can be seen in the Gilgamesh section of my online folio.
This painting (acrylic) is of Enkidu the Wildman from the original Gilgamesh epic.
